Shots =(
My kids are amazing!!
They both had to get shots this morning and Madison was the first to go! Poor kid - she didn't even see it coming. At her 8 yr-old well child check-up she was given the first of two Hep A vaccines and today was the 2nd shot. The last time I told her she was going to get a shot at the doctor she FREAKED OUT so this time I was a little bit sneaky (I'm allowed) and I didn't tell her until we were in the car...on our way there!! She flipped a little (understandable) but when it came shot time she let out a yelp, a few tears fell and that was the end of it! WHAT A KID! I'm so proud of her for being SO brave!
Then we have Garrett baby - time for his six month well child check-up and he is doing great!! He weighs 20 pounds 12 oz and is 29-3/4 inches tall!! His chunky monkey legs were given three shots and he had to swallow another (and it smelled GROSS)! We sang twinkle twinkle little star while the nurse was giving out the shots and he only cried for a minute - I was amazed to leave the room with two pretty calm kids!! We're in mostly 12 & 18 month clothing and still rocking the size 3 diaper!! He is a MONSTER!!! We've just started some solid foods and so far Sweet Potatoes and Bananas are a hit!
My kids are happy & healthy, my husband is the best - LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!

Happy 1/2 Year!
Today is Garrett's Six Month Birthday!! Yeah!! We don't head to the pediatrician until the 29th so we'll have to update you on his stats then...is there another definition for B-I-G!!! Today is also Madison's first day of summer camp, she was a little nervous this morning but it was all good once we found her locker (very important) and her friend Leah!! Hoping to hear all good things about camp this afternoon - then off to softball =)

Happy Father's Day!
The Russell Dad's really enjoy spending time at the cabin - what a perfect place for Father's Day Dinner! Maggie put together a great dinner (she'd tell you I helped too but all I brought was salad and a cheese ball - she really did all of the work)! The carrot cake (homemade of course) was the perfect dessert! This was also Garrett's first time at the cabin and I'm happy to say that he did really well!

Crazy Going Slowly
Things at our house are busier than ever! Madison has just two half days of 2nd grade left and the TBAYS softball season has just started!! This is our first year of softball! Madison did a great job at her first game...she's a natural athlete (yes, thank you thank you)!!
Garrett has been a busy boy too! We had our follow up appointment this morning (Garrett had an ear infection a couple of weeks ago) and we were give a clean bill of health (no fluid in the ears) and he tipped the scale at 20 lbs, 2 oz!!! Yup, he gained a pound in just a couple of weeks!! My son is a growing machine...I'm hoping he'll slow down soon! Perhaps I should talk to Matt about purchasing some stock in Carter's clothing....we seem to be spending a LOT of money with them lately!
Stay tuned for MORE pictures....

Last weekend Madison participated in the Seung-Ni Tournament. There were four categories for the intermediate/advanced group - forms, board breaking, sparring & sumo wrestling. Madison won 2nd place in the board breaking!! Good job Madison!!!
